He committed to Syracuse on Aug. 1 over Wake Forest. He still plans to enroll for the spring semester, but is waiting to see what will happen with the Orange’s coaching staff first. As soon as the news broke around 9:30 this morning, Neal’s phone blew up. He received five or six texts, was tweeted at by fans and received direct messages from other SU commits.Neal said he knew there was outside talk of Shafer being fired, but as recently as a week ago, Shafer told Neal he felt good about his job security.AdvertisementThis is placeholder text“I like Coach Shafer, I think he’s a good coach,” Neal said. “I guess people saw otherwise, you know, the win-loss column, so that’s why he’s out of there but I think he’s a great guy. I was glad he got to recruit me and I was just devastated to hear the news.”Running backs coach DeAndre Smith originally recruited Neal to play the hybrid position in offensive coordinator Tim Lester’s offense. With a new offense possibly on the horizon, Neal said he’d also be comfortable playing running back.As of this afternoon, Wake Forest and Georgia Southern also contacted Neal today since his recruitment may potentially open back up. He’s been in touch with other Orange commits and their wait-and-see outlook is mostly similar.“I think it’s time for the school to get turned around and get back on the right track,” Neal said. “Good recruiting class coming in if all of us stick together, all of us stay in contact it’ll be a good turnaround for the school and the program to get back to where it belongs.” Commentscenter_img Published on November 23, 2015 at 6:29 pm Contact Paul: [email protected] | @pschwedslast_img read more

Chelsea Targets Antonio as Hector Interest Cools

first_imgChelsea are interested in signing Michail Antonio as they look to strengthen their options in the wing-back position but, despite reports, are not interested in Koln’s Jonas Hector, Goal understands.Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to reinforce his defence in January and has already recalled Nathan Ake from Bournemouth as he struggles to zero in on key targets, with a game against title holders Leicester City beckoning on Saturday. His hopes of signing Antonio could be dashed early, however, as the Hammers have no interest of selling the 26-year-old in January. The Blues are continuing to monitor other options, having also looked at Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam. Ghoulam has snubbed a new contract at the Serie A club but it is understood that he will not be available to move in January. Conte is still assessing Kenedy and is open to both keeping him or loaning him out. The Brazilian is not yet registered to play because, if he makes an appearance for Chelsea, he would be unable to move on loan. This is due to FIFA rules not allowing players to appear for more than two clubs, with Kenedy having been used by Watford in a single appearance before returning to west London.Hector, though, has not been one to catch Chelsea’s interest despite rumours linking the Londoners to the Germany international.Conte has outlined Swansea City’s Fernando Llorente as a January target up front, meanwhile, though Michy Batshuayi’s status in the squad is complicating matters. Batshuayi has several clubs in England and Italy watching his situation, while Marseille would also be prepared to take him on loan.Share this:FacebookRedditTwitterPrintPinterestEmailWhatsAppSkypeLinkedInTumblrPocketTelegramlast_img read more

‘The Last Dance’: Screaming Pacers lady is the next viral meme to come from Bulls doc

first_img“The Last Dance” concluded with Episodes 9 and 10 on Sunday, providing a satisfying end to a captivating look at the Bulls’ final championship season together.Oh, and it introduced some excellent memeable content in the form of this Pacers fan screaming “God d— you, Bulls,” among other indignities that start with the letter F: She quickly became one of the biggest talking points on social media Sunday, with some people calling her the “OG Karen.” She is, in reality, a woman who desperately wanted her Pacers to beat the Bulls and who was justifiably tired of their run of dominance in the NBA.That said, some of the content people created from her 10 seconds of airtime sure is funny. But before we get into that: No, that woman is not Nashville news anchor Tracy Kornet, mother of current Bulls player Luke Kornet (although she does look similar to the screaming Pacers fan).Did you see me on the #TheLastDance ! pic.twitter.com/3DWxJaagPz— Tracy Kornet (@WSMVTracyKornet) May 18, 2020. @WSMVTracyKornet , mother of Bulls center Luke Kornet, tells @TheAthleticIND she is NOT the Pacers fan in episode 9.But her phone is blowing up because of the uncanny resemblance. pic.twitter.com/bqt6CErdmO— Scott Agness (@ScottAgness) May 18, 2020Now.
