Colossal 12Foot Alligator Caught Walking Across Florida Highway

first_imgBroderick Vaughan, a Leon County gator trapper, told the Naples Daily News that the animal was the third biggest alligator he’s ever captured. Sadly the alligator was hit in the snout by a semi-truck, so it was very stunned and confused when authorities arrived at the scene.Vaughan was able to capture the large alligator, tape its snout shut, and use a hoist machine to load it onto his truck. A couple of days later, the creature had to be euthanized because its skull was crushed by the semi-truck that collided into it.According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, alligators are more aggressive in June because it’s right in the middle of their mating season. Alligator courtship typically starts in April and mating takes place in May or June.
