All three new routes “take off” to/from Brisbane, this Sunday 28 March. Tiger Airways’ first female Captain – Wendy Hazelton will operate the inaugural service to Brisbane, which departs from Adelaide Airport at 7am to arrive into Brisbane at 8:50am. Tiger Airways Australia Managing Director Shelley Roberts said she was proud of the airlines expansion especially when so many competitors are cutting back and increasing airfares. “There’s no doubt about it, we are bucking the trend, we are adding new aircraft, new routes and creating more jobs,” Ms Roberts said. “We’re thrilled that the people of Australia continue to embrace our true low fares. “Because of Tiger Airways, air travel has never been more affordable for many more people. We’ve brought real competition to the market and real choice for the consumer. “It’s great that Brisbane, too, can now join in the Low Fare Revolution as Tiger Airways continues to extend its paw print across the nation.” The airline will operate up to three daily flights between Brisbane and Melbourne, daily flights between Brisbane and Adelaide and daily flights between Brisbane and Rockhampton – the first ever intrastate route for Australia’s low fare leader.
